Welcome to Acqui Terme

City of Water, City of Wellbeing

Tucked away in the heart of northern Italy’s Piedmont region is Acqui Terme, a fascinating spa town renonwed since Roman times for its boiling hot springs, surrounded by breathtaking scenery of vineyards and landscapes that was awarded in 2014 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  The impressive ruins of the Roman Aqueduct still stand next to the Bormida river, that remind us of how water has always been the most important element in this town, that offers its visitors an enviable blend of spas, culture, culinary excellence and Italian small-town charm that make it an appealing tourist destination.

    DISCOVER OUR LANDS....

Acqui Terme is nestled in the heart of the Alto Monferrato region, a fascinating land situated in the south of the region of Piedmont, surrounded by a natural frame of beautiful hills and countryside, by the Erro and Bormida valleys, where the landscape varies constantly with vineyards, fields, woodlands, valleys and rivers, but it is mostly characterized by vineyards cultivated with Brachetto and Moscato grapes. It lies on the border with the Langhe, the Monferrato Astigiano, the region of Liguria and the Apennine mountains, steeped in history, art and culture, wine and gastronomy delights, just an hour’s drive from importanti cities such as Genoa, Milan, Turin and the Ligurian Riviera.

    Places to go

The millennial history of the city began in the pre-Roman era with the Liguri Statielli tribe, later founded by the Romans and it became one of the most important roman Spa towns in the north of Italy.  In medieval times it saw the fortification and settlement of the Diocese, and finally the modern era with many famous local people, that may be admired around the city in the statues and monuments that pay tribute.
